Frequently Asked Questions

What is cold process soap?

Cold process soap making is an age-old technique that involves mixing plant-based fats or oils with sodium hydroxide (lye). Essential oils and colorants are then added as needed. This method triggers a chemical reaction known as saponification, where lye is converted within hours. At RSoaps.com, we adhere to this traditional cold process method, exclusively using only the highest quality plant-based oils in our soap production.

What is natural soap?

Natural soap is made with natural ingredients. What does that mean? Nothing artificial or synthetic has been included in or has been added to the soaps!

In RSoaps.com, we begin with only the highest quality base oils, and pair it with only essential oils and clays and herbs to give color.

What is commercial Soap?

Commercial soaps are the ones you will easily find at supermarkets and stores! Commercial soap is made of petroleum based lathering agents, synthetic fragrances, Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), harsh dyes, and dangerous preservatives.

Why should I use natural soap instead of commercial?

Natural soaps are significantly gentler on the skin, making them perfect for individuals with sensitive skin and exceptionally suitable for children. They naturally moisturize, leaving your skin nourished and soft. In contrast, commercial soaps can lead to dryness and discomfort with long-term use. The chemicals in these soaps tend to dehydrate the skin and can result in itchiness.

What is the difference between an Essential Oil and a Fragrance Oil?

Essential oils are extracted directly from various parts of plants, such as leaves, flowers, bark, and roots, through methods like steam distillation or cold-pressing. They are entirely natural and contain the aromatic compounds found in the plant.

On the other hand, fragrance oils, also known as synthetic or perfume oils, are typically created in a laboratory.

At RSoaps.com, we exclusively utilize pure essential oils in the creation of our soaps.

How long will my soap last?

A bar weighing around 5 ounces is typically sufficient for 3-4 weeks for an individual with average usage.
